I’ve been diving deep lately trying to wrap my head around the Folktek Resonant Garden. It’s an electroacoustc instrument that, to be honest, i’m not totally sure what it does.
It’s a beautifully had crafted box with built in contact mics, 3 DSP Alter FX modules, CV input control and some guitar strings growing straight up begging you to flick and bow them. I’ve been having a lot of success lately pairing it with my Mother 32 and DFAM to really generate some unique sounds and pads.
Its contact mics allow you to “play it” through taps, knocks, flicks and bows, making it feels alive, as it responds to every nuance of your touch. In a lot of way if feels like the Apprehension Engine in how reacts and to you and the emotion you bring to it. I look forward discovering new sounds and tones that i can incorporate into some of my shows later this year.
